Pace e Bene’s Ken Butigan and John Dear along with members of the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative met in Rome with Archbishop Paul Gallagher, number two at the Secretariat of State at the Vatican to discuss spreading the World Day of Peace message  and exploring the possibility of an encyclical on nonviolence.  We’ve included a few of the photos sent to us by John and Ken. Great meeting on Tuesday, December 20 between the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative delegation and Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the deputy secretary of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace. We discussed concrete work in promoting Pope Francis’ 2017 World Day of Peace message on nonviolence and explored steps forward for “nonviolence and just peace” in the Catholic Church and the larger world.
