Radical Prayers – New Book by John Dear!

Posted by Ryan Hall

Pace e Bene is excited to announce the upcoming release of a new book by Rev. John Dear from Pace e Bene Press titled, Radical Prayers: On Peace, Love and Nonviolence.

This book is a collection of roughly fifty prayers John has written over several years to challenge, inspire, encourage and express gratitude for life’s blessings on the journey for peace, justice and a nonviolent world.

These are truly Radical Prayers because, as those who’ve read any of John’s thirty books can tell you, he writes to bring people to nonviolent action while connecting you to the God of Peace for strength along the way.

In the introduction John writes, “In this little book I offer the prayers we rarely hear spoken outloud-prayers for an end to racism, sexism, greed, poverty, war, gun violence, executions, nuclear weapons and environmental destruction; prayers also for the coming of God’s reign of peace, for blessings on the grassroots movements of nonviolence, for a new culture of nonviolence. These prayers lead to the ultimate last prayer-a heartfelt prayer for humanity’s conversion to total nonviolence, which I believe is the ultimate prayer, the prayer of Jesus- ‘your kingdom of nonviolence come, your will of nonviolence be done.'”

Radical Prayers is now available currently for pre-order only through our website here. We expect it to be ready for shipment by the first week of December 2017 just in time for the book to arrive for Christmas. Pre-order your copy today! It will also be available for purchase on Amazon in December.

We’re also offering bulk order discounts in case you want to give this book as a gift to others! You’ll automatically receive 10% off orders of 5-9 copies and 20% off orders of 10 or more!

You can read more about the book and see one of the prayers along with the Table of Contents by visiting our site here.

Please note: John has another book coming out in 2018 through Orbis Books called “They Will Inherit the Earth: Peace and Nonviolence in a Time of Climate Change.” He is scheduling a book tour to discuss that book from March to May 2018. Learn more about that book and the tour here.
