John Dear Inspires Morro Bay, CA

Posted by Erin Bechtol

John Dear spoke in Morro Bay, CA on November 16th. The organizer Ruth Ann Angus, who is working on the Nonviolent Cities Project locally, brought John in to promote this project and Campaign Nonviolence. They had over 170 people attend John’s talk at St. Timothy’s in Morro Bay, including the mayor.

Ruth Ann said that the mayor “was duly impressed and has agreed to work with me on a proclamation establishing Morro Bay as a Nonviolent City!”

John will be visiting Morro Bay again on March 6th to speak about his new book, They Will Inherit the Earth: Peace and Nonviolence in a Time of Climate Change.

Watch video of John’s peace talk below.
