They Shall Beat Their Swords into Plowshares: The Story of the Plowshares Eight and Their Quest for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament

Below is a link to a short ten minute documentary about the Plowshares 8 made by two 7th graders from Kentucky Ave. School in Pittsburgh, PA, Alejandro Kulick and his friend Mason, recommended by John Dear and Molly Rush, one of the original Plowshares 8.

“They did a tremendous amount of research and produced a lively and accessible work,” Molly Rush of the Pittsburgh Thomas Merton Center writes. “It’s so encouraging that 12-year-olds chose this topic. Most adults seem to shy away from the thought of nuclear war and weapons, due to ‘psychic numbing’ in the words of psychiatrist Robert J. Lifton.”

We hope you are inspired!
