Coming Up! Nonviolent Strategy Workshops with Activist/Author Rivera Sun

Building a culture of active nonviolence requires growing your community’s knowledge of how nonviolent action works to create change. Author/Activist Rivera Sun is touring and teaching this year, offering talks and workshops on strategy for nonviolent movements. Many Campaign Nonviolence groups have hosted her workshops, bringing the skills and knowledge of crafting effective movements for change to people in their community. Rivera Sun is a nationwide trainer and offers a key pillar of what it takes to build a thriving culture of active nonviolence!

Organize, Strategize, Win! Tools for Change Workshop

Movements throughout history have tapped into the creative and strategic power of nonviolent action to win human rights, political freedoms, and greater social justice. Nonviolent Strategies for a Divided World Workshop

In a world of division, how do we work for change? Join Author/Activist Rivera Sun to gain tools and strategies from peacebuilding, nonviolent action, and community organizing that will help you cross divides and achieve goals of justice, peace, and sustainability. Learn how to make friends out of odd bedfellows, build allies, meet needs to resolve conflict, and use tried-and-true tools for moving change forward. Active Nonviolence Workshop Sept 22nd, Beaverton, OR, 9-4pm. Part of the Moving our Community to Nonviolence and Peace conference. Rivera Sun is the author of The Dandelion Insurrection and other novels. She served as Campaign Nonviolence’s Programs Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator for several years. Rivera has taught workshops nationwide to hundreds of groups. Her workshops on strategy for nonviolent movements have been called “enlightening”, “empowering”, and “revolutionary”. Participants leave with tools for planning effective campaigns and a broader understanding of the power of nonviolent action. Rivera Sun’s talks on the history and applications of nonviolent action connect inspiring stories to real life problems in an uplifting message that leaves people ready to take action!
