NYC Moves Toward a World Beyond War

by Rosemarie Pace  // Part of the Campaign Nonviolence Week of Actions

On Sunday, September 16th, Pax Christi Metro New York observed UN International Peace Day with a presentation by Alice Slater from World Beyond War, Abolition 2000, and the Nuclear Peace Age Foundation, among other affiliations. Her topic was “Eliminating Nuclear Weapons–Moving Beyond a World Beyond War.” Alice is an eloquent speaker who has extensive experience working to abolish nuclear weapons, extensive knowledge on the issue, and a message of hope despite the somberness of the topic. Sharing personal stories and disturbing facts of international wheeling and dealing, Alice was able to engage our disappointingly small audience without having to read a note. A Q & A session enriched the event even further. You can see all of Alice’s presentation below courtesy of Joe Friendly.
