Raleigh, NC Takes on Affordable Housing

Posted by Erin Bechtol

by Sue Woodling // Part of the Campaign Nonviolence Week of Actions

We had our first CNV event last night. We had cancelled our Monday event because of the hurricane. Our event was on how affordable housing is a nonviolent way of living and lack of affordable housing is a form of economic violence. The title was Happiness is Homemade: Affordable Housing Promotes Nonviolent Living. The forum was a success. We had over 50 in attendance and our panel was terrific.  CNV NC is now becoming labeled as a group who is an important player in the affordable housing crisis.

Campaign Nonviolence North Carolina joined together in a prayer vigil for nonviolence. Toward Wholeness: Prayer Vigil for Nonviolence. Members at vigil joined the global movement to meet the task to build a more just, peaceful and nonviolent world. They made the commitment to walk together in this journey from violence to wholeness.
