Arkansas Peace Week Focuses on Schools

Arkansas Peace Week kicked into action with more than 25 events on September 16, and their focus is on reaching school-aged children in Central Arkansas. The goal is to get lessons of peace, nonviolence, and conflict resolution into the curriculum for a week. Lessons include peace-related readings, acting out conflict resolutions, and learning about historical nonviolent figures. Arkansas Peace Week’s Bob Estes says, “Teach some of the tools . . . to reduce the conflict, reduce the violence, make more peace in our community.”
