The Moment of Truth Has Arrived

Posted by Erin Bechtol

The time has come. The Moment of Truth has arrived. Tonight, people from all over the country who are committed to creating a nonviolent future will gather to reflect and prepare for the march in Washington, DC. At 4pm, Ken Butigan and Veronica Pelicaric will hold a nonviolent action training followed by a gathering at 7pm to discuss the events to come. Both the training and the gathering will take place at  The Festival Center in Washington, DC.

Tomorrow is the main event. At 9am the rally will begin at the Martin Luther King Jr. Statue on the south side of the Lincoln Memorial. The march to the White House begins at 10am where some will vigil and others will engage in nonviolent direct action.

Register here if you haven’t already. Bring your friends—the bigger our numbers, the bigger impact we will have!

For those of you who won’t be in DC, tune into the livestream of our event on our Youtube page starting at 9am. We will post photos and videos after the event has concluded as well.

Wishing you all success in your local events for the Week of Actions. Together, our collective actions and voices are calling for an end to the culture of racism, poverty, war, and environmental destruction, and making the choice for nonviolence, peace and truth.
