by  Mary Ryan-Hotchkiss  // Part of the Campaign Nonviolence Week of Actions

Nonviolence workshop with Rivera Sun, trainer.  Presentations by 5 nonviolence activists from Poor People’s Campaign, Interfaith Movement for Immigrant Justice, Holy Land Ministry and their Film Festival Human Rights in Palestine, Oct 5 – 7, SOA-Watch.  We sang songs, built drums and made plans for future campaigns.  A rally at the end of the day was for Keeping Families  Together, No on 105 (anti-sanctuary ballot measure), Peace, etc.  By combing this with a Maryknoll Affiliate gathering we had people from Chicago, New Mexico, Washington and California participating, in addition to more than 40 people from throughout the Portland OR area.  On a map we put notes where we were globally connected.
