Do you wish you could resolve disputes peacefully with family, neighbors or co-workers? Now you can.
In this fun, interactive workshop presented by the Alternatives to Violence Project, we make friends with conflict as we explore the causes of violence and support the spread of peace in our lives. We connect deeply with others, laugh, share, and learn how to build healthy relationships in our homes, workplaces, and communities.
The program will be held at the Neptune City Community Center, 117 3rd Ave., Neptune City, NJ 07753. There is free parking in the lot.
The workshop will run October 14 – 16, 2016, and participants should plan to attend all three days. Friday hours are 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Saturday hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Sunday hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Snacks and lunch are provided throughout. A suggested voluntary donation of $50 covers materials and refreshments, but no one will be turned away for inability to pay.
The nonprofit organization, with branches across the US, has trained more than 1,200 people in New Jersey since 2008. Participants who complete all sessions of the workshop earn a certificate in conflict transformation useful on job applications and resumés.
The program is run by a team of trained volunteer facilitators who lead workshops at community centers, social service organizations, and prisons in New Jersey.
