Peace Vigil Statement
CNV Stands with the Thursday Vigil Against War – SF Federal Bldg
Stand with us against the war. We have stood on this corner every Thursday since October 2001. We come to say NO to war and to speak up for nonviolence. This week our special focus will be on CAMPAIGN NONVIOLENCE.
We gather every Thursday at the San Francisco Federal Building, Golden Gate Avenue and Larkin Streets, from noon to 1:00 p.m.
All in agreement are invited to vigil with us. Let us stand against all war and pray for all victims of war.
This vigil was started by two Quaker groups, American Friends Service Committee and San Francisco Friends Meeting. They have been joined by Buddhist Peace Fellowship and Episcopal Peace Fellowship.
Participants come from a range of backgrounds. Some of us are silent, praying or meditating. Others do not keep silence and are happy to speak with you. Please vigil with us every Thursday.
We will have the Campaign Nonviolence Turquoise Blue Scarves available for a small fee. They are made by the Afghan Peace Volunteers in Kabul. You can also bring your own, or you are invited to wear a turquoise blue shirt or skirt. We will also have special CNV signs available that day. We hope to take a photo, to send to CNV, and include all who are willing. Thank you.
