Dr. Roger Barnes, UIW Professor of Sociology and Chair of Sociology and Criminal Justice

University of the Incarnate Word Mabee Library Auditorium, 7 pm

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination. On April 3rd the night before he was killed, he told the crowd in Memphis, “the choice is no longer violence or nonviolence; it’s nonviolence or non-existence.”  Dr. Barnes will consider the ideas and events which formed Dr. King in the way of nonviolence, which he called “the love that does justice.”
