The Peace Day Poster Project is an initiative to spread peace across the DC-MD-VA area. For over 30 years, Little Friends for Peace has engaged communities in workshops, peace circles, summer camps, and after-school programs. We hope to spread peace in little ways to build relationships and interrupt cycles of violence in our schools and communities. With the Peace Day Poster Project, we can build a little peace and spread joyful messages to all.
We hope that on September 21st, everywhere you go, you will see peaceful creations. We welcome children, seniors, and everyone in-between to artistically answer the question, “What does peace mean to you?” on a piece of paper. We ask that you use your imagination with a drawing, painting, poetry or anything that you believe best expresses your ideas of peace. We have already collected more than 200 masterpieces from watercolors created by 1st grade summer campers to poetry written by college students!
We will collect submissions September 15-17th and will post them publicly throughout the DMV area on the 20th. You can also post them by yourself to spread peace in your neighborhood
If you are interested in partnering with Little Friends for Peace, please read our requirements below and RSVP to our project coordinator, Philipp Conrad. You can reach Philipp at firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up, ask any questions, and learn more about how your group can spread peace at home, at school, and in our neighborhoods!
We hope that you will join us in our celebration. You can join other peacemakers on our Facebook event, here: https://www.facebook.com/events/720099894722429/Get Directions via Google Maps
