Join the Washington Peace Center for a hands-on, interactive workshop on
elements of nonviolent direct action – a powerful tool for social change! Through
role plays and exercises we will review nonviolent Street Smarts and Safety,
working in Affinity Groups, and planning effective nonviolent direct action
(NVDA), Flying Squads and mobile tactics, with a focus on how to use NVDA
strategically within a campaign.
For all folks ready to invest in effective actions, or move their campaigns to the
next level. Especially for all those going to NYC for the People’s Climate March or
those engaging in Campaign Nonviolence’s actions.
Facilitated by Nadine Bloch, of the Washington Action Group, and Samantha
Miller, DC Action Lab.
The DC Trainers’ Network monthly skillshare is a structured, interactive space
where people can share skills and gain confidence in their training abilities and
everybody is both a teacher and a learner. We strive to provide an inclusive
practice space to experiment with different approaches for learning and
This skillshare seeks to strengthen the DC activist community’s ability to meet
the needs of progressive social movements.
