Join us for the first national gathering of Campaign Nonviolence to energize, inspire and prepare us for the second wave of actions across the U.S., September 20-27th, 2015 and to mark the 70th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Thursday, August 6, 2015
Join us to mark the 70th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Hiroshima with the annual sackcloth and ashes peace vigil and call for nuclear disarmament near the National Labs, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Ashley Pond, in Los Alamos, N.M., with reflections by Rev. Jim Lawson and Roshi Joan Halifax. Transportation to and from Los Alamos will not be provided for this vigil and it will be up to each participant to get there and back.  Sunday’s vigil to Los Alamos will have round-trip bus transportation from the hotel.

Friday, August 7, 2015
Join Ken Butigan, Veronica Pelicaric, and the Pace e Bene/Campaign Nonviolence staff for a pre-conference intensive day of nonviolence training, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Santa Fe Hilton.  A vegetarian bag lunch will be provided.

Friday-Saturday, August 7-8, 2015
Join with leaders, activists and peacemakers from around the nation to reflect on nonviolence, energize the grassroots movement to abolish war, poverty, nuclear weapons and environmental destruction, and build “Campaign Nonviolence.” Speakers include Rev. Jim Lawson, Prof. Erica Chenoweth, Roshi Joan Halifax, Rev. John Dear, Kathy Kelly, Ken Butigan, Kit Evans-Ford, Rev. Lennox Yearwood, Sr. Joan Brown, Marian Naranjo and Beata Tsosie-Pena from the New Mexico Pueblo and many others.

The Campaign Nonviolence National Conference will energize, inspire and prepare us for the second wave of actions across the U.S., September 20-27th, 2015. Get ready now to make peace for ourselves, the nation and the world!  Register today.

The conference will be held at The Hilton Hotel, 100 Sandoval St. Santa Fe, NM off the plaza. It will begin Friday night, August 7, 2015 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. beginning with the opening keynote. Registration will run from 5 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.   The conference will resume Saturday morning August 8, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

A vegetarian bag lunch will be provided on Saturday along with coffee and tea.

Sunday, August 9, 2015
Finally, join us to mark the 70th anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Nagasaki with the annual sackcloth and ashes peace vigil and call for nuclear disarmament near the National Labs, 11:00-2:00 p.m. at Ashley Pond in Los Alamos, N.M., with reflections by Rev. Jim Lawson, Kathy Kelly, Medea Benjamin,Ken Butigan, John Dear, Beata Tsosie-Pena from the New Mexico Pueblo and others. There will also be a presentation for the 2015 US Peace Memorial award during this event.

Veterans for Peace will provide round-trip bus transportation from the Hilton Hotel in Santa Fe to Los Alamos and back.  Those who choose to use the bus, be prepared to leave in front of the Hilton by 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning.  Buses will leave Los Alamos around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday and return to Santa Fe around 2:30 p.m.
