Vigil to Celebrate Nonviolence and the Iran Nuclear Agreement

A group of about 20 advocates and practitioners of nonviolence gathered for a 90 minute vigil outside the Federal Building on a busy intersection in downtown Bellingham. This is also the site of a weekly peace vigil that has been held continuously since 1966. All participants wore blue scarves and several carried signs with messages like “Celebrate Nonviolence”. One carried a Campaign Nonviolence banner. Passersby mostly responded positively as some of the vigilers wished them “Happy International Day of Peace” and a few were interested in conversing with us.
