Funeral Mass for Daniel Berrigan

Posted by Ryan Hall
05.09.16

On Friday May 6, 2016 the funeral mass for Daniel Berrigan, SJ, was held at the Church of St. Francis Xavier in New York City.  The Jesuit publication, America Media, recorded the celebration of Fr. Berrigan’s life.

Pace e Bene Director, Ken Butigan, attended the funeral and said that it was a tremendous celebration of Daniel’s life from beginning to end, including an over-the-top homily by Steve Kelly, SJ, long-time friend of Daniel and long-time nonviolent resister who has spent many years in prison as well. The church was jammed, brimming over with gratitude, keen loss, and infectious celebratory energy!  Watch the video below or click here.  Please note, the first few minutes of the video had technical issues.
