Peace Grows ~ Nurturing a Culture of Peace
A peace event called, Peace Grows! Nurturing a Culture of Peace – Transforming to End War, Poverty and the Climate Crisis will be held Saturday, September 26th on the Baraboo Square, 11am-1pm. In collaboration with the project Campaign Nonviolence (CampaignNonviolence.org) and the organization Pace e Bene (paceebene.org), this event is one of hundreds being held throughout cities in the U.S. and intentionally to acknowledge and celebrate International Peace Day and week Sept. 20-27th.
The opening of the event begins at 10:30am with a song followed by a walk from The First Congregational United Church of Christ, 316th Ave., to the Oak St courthouse lawn near the building entrance. Everyone is invited and encouraged to join in!
At 11am speakers will address the importance of peace and nonviolence, the realities of climate crisis, war, and poverty. There will be plenty of music, a peace choir, theater, a children’s activity area, T-Shirts and other items for sale.
Please join us to help support and create a new culture of peace and nonviolence. This event is sponsored by the Baraboo WI based nonprofit organization One Heart Inc., (oneheartinc.org) and Sacred Sounds Theatre located in Prairie du Sac, WI.
